Clear answers about where the evidence comes from, what the estimates mean, and what Contender deliberately does not claim.

Contender ingests schedules and box scores from stats.nba.com, versions the records it uses, and shows provenance and freshness with each analysis. Contender is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA.

Where does the data come from?

Is the probability a guarantee?

No. It is an uncalibrated model estimate conditional on the player participating. Contender separates it from observed hit rates and never presents it as certainty.

Are the examples live picks?

No. Public examples are historical replays generated as of the game day and graded against the stored result afterward. The label and outcome remain visible.

How does parlay analysis work?

The headline estimate multiplies leg probabilities under independence. Contender also shows dependence bounds and flags linked legs, including legs from the same game.

Does changing the display window retrain the model?

No. The window changes the history you inspect. It does not change the model training boundary or turn the historical rate into a forecast.

What is saved with an analysis?

Eligible plans save an immutable server snapshot with its inputs, result, provenance, and timestamps so reopening history does not silently recompute the original result.
